Funding is anticipated for a Ph.D. research assistantship starting in the Fall of 2017 at East Carolina University.
Degree Offered:
Ph.D. in Bioenergetics and Exercise Science
Responsibilities:
Research assistants are expected to contribute 20 hour per week towards laboratory research.
Research Project:
Investigation of balance related impairments, including mTBI, fatigue and reduced plantar sensation using biomechanical assessment and brain imaging techniques (EEG and MRI).
Stipend:
Full Assistantship stipend is $26,000 for twelve months, along with health insurance and tuition.
Qualifications:
B.S. or M.S. in a relevant discipline. As the proposed work is multidisciplinary in nature, students from a variety of backgrounds are welcome to apply. Previous research experience in biomechanical, motor control or neuroscience laboratory, and knowledge of Matlab and virtual reality is highly desirable.
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills are required.
