Overview

An early stage start-up in southern California is looking for a passionate, self-driven neuroscientist to oversee the acquisition and analysis of neural signals that will inform the design of a novel spinal cord prosthesis.

Job description

The candidate will be responsible for recording and analyzing EEG signals from human subjects engaged in motor tasks. Signal processing will be required for extracting the desired gamma-band signal in the presence of EMG and other sources of noise. The final filtered data will then be used to train a machine learning system capable of supplying the appropriate input signals for functional stimulation of the spinal cord.
Requirements

• PhD in neuroscience, with focus on motor systems
• Experience in neural signal acquisition, especially EEG and ECOG recording
• Solid knowledge in signal processing
• Knowledge in machine learning
• Experience with MATLAB and its signal processing and machine learning toolbox
• C/C++ is a plus
• Eligible to work in US
