I had a problem trying to use eeglab that I think can be a bug. However, I
wasn't able to post it on Bugzilla. So I'm going to bring it here.
I have a Dell Optiplex7040 with Ubuntu 16.04. I was using, without
problems, Matlab 2015a and 2017a with eeglab 14.1.1b until I installed the
Ubuntu version driver for my AMD graphic card (amdgpu-pro-16.40-348864).
After that, when opening eeglab in Matlab 2017a (eeglab; on the console),
the console outputs "eeglab: options file is ~/eeg_options.m" and stays
there forever (I let the computer alone an entire night and nothing
happened). When using Matlab 2015a the console outputs the normal messages,
and after the eeglab windows opened, Matlab crashes and closes completely.
When running 2015a through terminal this error message is printed:
"Segmentation fault (core dumped)".
After uninstalling the AMD graphic card driver the problems solves in both
Matlab versions. I'm not sure but I believe this can be a bug. Also, maybe
related to this bug report (
https://sccn.ucsd.edu/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=1886).
