Dear all,

there is a PhD position open in the lab where I work. We are especially
looking for someone with EEG experience. Here below is the ad.

Best,
Carolina

*Ph.D.Student position on the development of the self in infancy*

We invite applications for a Ph.D. student position in developmental
science. The position will be part of a research project on the early
emergence and development of the active self in infancy. It focuses on the
behavioral indicators, the social correlates, and the neural basis of the
emerging self in infancy. The project is part of a priority program of the
German Research Foundation (DFG) on the active self (www.activeself.de) and
is supervised by Prof. Markus Paulus. The project is located at the
University of Munich (Germany). It is paid according to German salary scale
TV-‐L E13 (65%).

The project explores the basis of the self in early childhood. It involves
measures of infants’ implicit self, toddlers’ self-‐concept, assessement
of parent-‐child interactions, and the use of EEG or fNIRS to tap into
neurocognitive mechanisms.

The position requires a master degree in psychology or a related discipline
(e.g., cognitive neuroscience). Candidates should have experience or a
strong interest in working with families and young children, and
experiences in quantitative empirical research. Basic German skills (or a
compelling motivation to acquire them in the first months of the project)
are necessary in order to interact with the families. Experiences in the
application of neurocognitive methods (EEG, fNIRS) are a big plus. The
position requires good communicative and organizational skills, high
commitment as well as profound English skills.

*Application:* Please send your application (including a full CV, copies of
master degree diploma, detailed motivation letter, contact details of up to
three academic references) to markus.paulus at lmu.de in one PDF file. Further
inquiries about the position can also be directed to Prof. Markus Paulus
under the above mentioned email-‐address. Please send your application by *20.
September. *
