[Eeglablist] reading .edf files

Hi
I am trying to import .edf files on eeglab using File > Import Data > using
EEGLAB functions and plugins > From EDF/EDF+/GDF files (BIOSIG toolbox)
I am using the TEST.edf file downloaded from
http://www.indiana.edu/~pcl/busey/temp/eeglabtutorial4.301/readtut/eeglabreadata.html#EDF

and what I get is this message on the command window (below) followed by a
pop out window from the pop_biosig function asking for Channel list, Data
range to read, Extract events etc. etc.
It is not clear to me what these messages mean and why EEGLAB calls the
pop_biosig function instead of the pop_readedf as stated in the eeglab
tutorial
