The Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environments and Human Factors has opened a
PhD position in Cognitive Neuro-ergonomics / Applied Experimental Psychology. The project will primarily deal with EEG based indicators of user states in diverse work-related contexts. One of the core techniques will be the application of mobile EEG during natural movement.

The official announcement:

‘Forschungsgesellschaft für Arbeitsphysiologie und Arbeitsschutz e.V. Dortmund’ (legal entity name) is a research institution institutionally funded by the German Federal Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs and the State of North Rhine-Westphalia. It is the sponsor of ’Leibniz Research Centre for Working Environment and Human Factors at TU Dortmund’ (IfADo). IfADo explores the risks and potentials of modern work in interdisciplinary approaches. We combine the disciplines of Ergonomics, Immunology, Toxicology, Psychology and Neurosciences.

For reinforcement of the Department of Ergonomics we are seeking to hire a PhD student in

The successful applicant will plan and conduct neuroscientific studies in the field of applied experimental psychology. The research will comprise a variety of neuro-ergonomic topics like the distribution of cognitive resources, task engagement versus disengagement, mental fatigue, and mind wandering. The methodological focus will be placed on EEG research, ranging from laboratory experiments to mobile EEG studies in more natural settings. The tasks will also comprise data analysis and the preparation of manuscripts for publication in international peer reviewed journals.
Our requirements:
The applicant should have a completed degree in psychology, cognitive science, or equivalent.
