Dear colleagues,

Greetings!

The paper submission deadline for the 2020 IEEE SMC Brain-Machine Interface Workshop (to be held in Toronto in October) is fast approaching - April 30! Full length papers (4-8 pages) are to be submitted online at:

https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://conf.papercept.net/conferences/scripts/start.pl__;!!Mih3wA!RWJdfzAhZnvhogj75OUtSnhOAXZ8MoZTzJcyP0aBiaXDz1kG8XjSnvlTPUbllYNeUE3DLA$

If you are submitting a regular paper to the Workshop (ie, not to a particular Special Session), please use the “BMI Workshop Regular Papers“ submission button. Otherwise, please select the “BMI Workshop Special Session Papers” link. As a reminder, here are the approved special sessions and their codes (you will be asked for this information during submission):

  1. Recent advances in SSVEP based BCI systems. Code: 6334w. Authors/Proposers: Ivan Volosyak* (Germany).
  2. New Trends in Brain-Machine Interfacing. Code: 865qa. Authors/Proposers: Ivan Volosyak*, Christoph Guger (Germany).
  3. Bridging the gap between BCI and robotics: ROS-Neuro and new integration solutions. Code: tbvaj. Authors/Proposers: Luca Tonin*, Luca Ascari (Italy).
  4. Passive BCI for Operational Environments. Code: 7u355. Authors/Proposers: Andrew Law*, Tiago H. Falk (Canada).
  5. Brain-Machine Interfaces for the Assessment of Consciousness. Code: 4a9p5. Authors/Proposers: Stefanie Blain-Moraes* (Canada).
  6. Advances in neurotechnology for human performance optimization. Code: 3346e. Authors/Proposers: Amy Kruse, Tim Mullen* (USA).
  7. Mobile Brain/Body Imaging and BMI. Code: fi71c. Authors/Proposers: Tim Mullen*, Tzyy-Ping Jung, Christian Kothe (USA).
  8. Deep Learning and Transfer Learning for Brain-Machine Interfacing. Code: kg4ts. Authors/Proposers: Dongrui Wu*, Christian Kothe, Tim Mullen (China).
  9. Brain-inspired Cognitive Systems. Code: 865id. Authors/Proposers: Yingxu Wang* (Canada).

Given the circumstances, there will be the possibility of remote presentation/participation if travel is still an issue in October.

I invite you to visit the Workshop’s website to see the list of confirmed keynote speakers, details about the BCI Hackathon, as well as the BCI Award. Details about other events, such as panels, invited speakers, potential deadline extensions, etc will be posted as they become available.
