Dear EEGLAB list,

We are holding a webinar at the Open Science Room conference tomorrow Thursday, June 24th, to introduce the third generation of the Hierarchical Event Descriptors (HED) system. HED is a framework we and collaborators are developing for systematically describing laboratory and real-world events using a controlled but extensible vocabulary. Using HED, one can move pass the practice of working with cryptic lab-specific event codes (type ’13’) to thinking directly in terms of what actually happened during the experiment (‘Sensory-event, Visual, Circle’). This will not only increase the clarity and usability of shared data but also enable the possibility of large-scale, cross-study analyses.

The webinar will be held at 2pm PDT tomorrow Thursday, June 24th and can be accessed at https://urldefense.proofpoint.com/v2/url?u=https-3A__www.crowdcast.io_e_osr-2Demergents1_register-3Fsession-3D16&d=DwIGaQ&c=-35OiAkTchMrZOngvJPOeA&r=kB5f6DjXkuOQpM1bq5OFA9kKiQyNm1p6x6e36h3EglE&m=oWm76LzrVKh-xu2gKkpQl2xYmLBwHVmrBVH05MUtTds&s=i4-A7FvQ2uVRpLjYFAI3RwzDmNZWS1R65HfyGk7Qy60&e= .
