Hello,

We hope you are doing well. My name is Zac Borden, and my colleague Mike Moynihan and I are working on a project that uses the get_chanlocs plugin to localize scalp electrodes from 3D scans. We have been following your protocol exclusively from SCNN get_chanlocs user guide, and we have been able to capture adequate scans using the Structure Sensor Pro and ItSeez3D. However, we are encountering an issue within Matlab after we call the get_chanlocs plugin from the EEGlab menu.

The error occurs when we input the head image folder and output file name from the EEGlab menu. We are getting an error message saying that the .mtl files and .obj files from our scan are not together in the head image folder (see screenshot). We are not sure why this is the case, as we used ItSeez3D to scan ourselves as described in your protocol. We exported the scan as a .obj file from ItSeez3D to our computers, and it automatically created a head image folder that we could download containing a .obj file, a .png file, and a .txt file. However, the .mtl file and .jpg files that are also needed to get the 3D scans into Matlab appear to be missing from this head image folder and we do not know why this is the case.

We were wondering if you would be able to provide any insight into our issue and why the .mtl and .obj flles were not exported together into the head image folder from ItSeez3D? We are continually getting the same error and would greatly value your feedback and clarification to help us move forward with our project.

Thank you so much for your help and time, and we look forward to hearing from you,

Best,
Zac Borden and Mike Moynihan
