This research is implemented as part of the Ramón y Cajal (RyC) programme (similar to a tenure-track) awarded to Dr. Diego Lozano-Soldevilla by the Agencia Española de Investigación (RYC2022-035526-I). The RyC is a highly competitive call aiming to integrate exceptional researchers into Spanish Research & Development Centers.
UIC Barcelona is a prestigious university that currently welcomes more than 9,000 students. Our state of the art EEG laboratory is based in the lively and beautiful Sant Cugat Campus, a calm city 30 mins train distance from Barcelona’s centre.
Specific Requirements
· Title of Master's in Cognitive Science, Neuroscience, or related areas.
· Not having a Ph.D. degree.
· Not having enjoyed more than 12 months of EPIF contract.
· Once the contract starts, being enrolled in the doctoral program at UIC Barcelona.
· Previous experience in electroencephalography or other neuroimaging techniques will be considered.
· Excellent skills in Spanish and English (teaching requirement).
· Demonstrable knowledge/experience in Matlab or Python is a requirement (a certificate is not required but hands-ons).
Desirable requirements:
· A background in engineering, physics, computer science would be an advantage.
· Demonstrable EEG experience with healthy controls, patients or animal samples is a huge advantage.
We offer:
· Full-time contract as a research trainee with a maximum duration of 4 years:
o 1st year: 17.737,84€ brute/year.
o 2nd year: 18.452€ brute/year.
o 3rd year: 23.065€ brute/year.
o 4th year: 23.756,04€ brute/year.
· Possibility of postdoctoral orientation after obtaining the degree, for a maximum of 12 months and not exceeding the 4-year contract duration.
· The researcher will be integrated within a larger network of researchers including UIC, the Barcelona Computational, Cognitive and Systems Neuroscience Community, and other research groups:
o Dr. Begoña Díaz: speech processing.
o Prof. Dr. Rubén Moreno-Bote: computational models of visual perception.
o Prof. Dr. Salvador Soto-Faraco: neuronal oscillations and multisensory integration.
o Prof. Dr. Antoni Valero-Cabré: brain stimulation.
o Dr. Eric Lowet: neuronal oscillations.
o Prof. Dr. Qi Chen: stereotactic EEG.
