Hi everyone,

Sorry for the multiple postings. Below is a revised version including some important elements that were missing in my initial post.

Project Description: Join us in investigating subconscious predictive processes using pioneering technology! This project combines the Galea headset (OpenBCI Inc.) with Varjo VR tech, integrating 8-channel EEG, PPG, EDA, EMG, and eye tracking. Help capture correlates of subconscious anticipation in a passive driving simulation, utilizing robust statistics and machine learning methods.

Role and Responsibilities:
• Run pre-developed data analysis pipelines (MATLAB and EEGLAB).
• Inspect and verify processed data quality.
• Gain hands-on experience in signal processing and biostatistics.
• Opportunity to help improve existing code and develop new code if interested and skilled (optional).
• Opportunity to visit our lab in Novato (California, US) to support data collection (optional for local candidates).
• Opportunity to co-author a manuscript for peer-reviewed publication.

Basic Requirements:
• Experience with MATLAB and EEGLAB.
• Basic understanding of EEG, PPG, and EDA data or physiology.
• Good communication skills and strong attention to detail.

Time period: August-December 2024 (flexible).

Time Requirements: Flexible, just need to meet deadlines.

Location: Remote (data analysis); Novato, CA (data collection support)

Compensation: This is an unpaid internship.

To Apply: Send CV or summary of experience to: ccannard at pm.me

Join a groundbreaking project investigating subconscious predictive processes in unpredictable settings using pioneering technology. We will be collecting data shortly using the Galea headset (by OpenBCI Inc.) merging state-of-art Varjo Aero Virtual Reality (VR) technology and simultaneous 8-channel EEG, PPG, EDA, EMG, and eye tracking. This project aims to capture correlates of subconscious anticipation in a simple passive driving simulation and predicts outcomes using advanced machine learning and statistical analyses.
