The newly established Cognitive Electrophysiology Lab at UNC Greensboro (PI: Eric Fields) is recruiting a PhD student in the 2025-2026 admissions cycle.

Please forward this email to any students who may be interested and to any person or email list where it may reach interested students.

OUR LAB

Our lab studies the cognitive neuroscience of emotional memory and related topics. We ask questions like: How and why do we remember things better (or sometimes worse) when they have emotional significance? How and why do we remember negative experiences differently than positive experiences?

We use electroencephalography (EEG) as a key method, and we are also interested in developing and improving analysis methods in EEG research.

GRADUATE STUDIES @ UNCG

The University of North Carolina at Greensboro is a great place to pursue graduate studies for students interested in memory. The cognitive area within our experimental psychology PhD program includes multiple faculty members with specializations in various aspects of human memory. PhD students are generally funded for 5 years (including stipend and tuition remission).
