With this release, we are beginning to evolve the EEGLAB release schedule.
The new version is the first 'beta' version we are releasing. After a
few weeks
of public comment (please report any problems), we will migrate this
version
to V4.4 (stable). This will allow us to release new versions in beta
form earlier
in the development cycle, while keeping a stable version available for
new users.
Note that we believe the new version to be least as stable as the
previously
available version 4.311, with many upgrades and bug fixes - we are using
the
'beta' label to be conservative. Go to the web page below to download
EEGLAB4.4b.

The main feature in this new revision is 40 new pages of tutorial
describing how
to use event information as well as how to use EEGLAB structures for
scripting.
Beginning with this version, we will allow users to update printed PDF
copies
by replacing or inserting selected pages, rather than needing to print
the entire
tutorial volume after future version upgrades (see details on the
revision web
page http://sccn.ucsd.edu/eeglab/revisions.html).

New features in EEGLAB itself includes a new full-head 3-D headplot() model
and new 2-D topoplot() full-head 'skirt' mode, as well as feature
additions and/or
small bug fixes to many programs. The new release also continues the
evolution
of events and "urevents" (original events) to pull information about the
event
"context" of events of interest. Duration of event (new event field
'duration')
can now be used in a variety of functions. Two data import plugins (CTF and
ANT data format) have also been added to the EEGLAB distribution. New
version features summarized in more detail at

We are continuing to receive applications for the first EEGLAB workshop to
Be held at UCSD in late October after the Society for Neuroscience meeting.
The pre-registration page is
http://sccn.ucsd.edu/eeglab/workshop/index.html.
We will respond to pre-registrants by July 21.

We are also beginning an email developers list for those EEGLAB users who
would like to contribute to the core development of EEGLAB. Please write us
at eeglab at sccn.ucsd.edu if you would like to become involved.
