This is a message to the EEGLAB community to promote the use of EEGLAB extensions. EEGLAB extensions are at the heart of EEGLAB to promote the use of novel algorithms and advance the field of EEG research. While the EEGLAB extension manager now has 66 plugin/extensions, a large number of EEGLAB extensions (formerly called plugins) remain only available for download from the authors’ website which limits their usage and diffusion.
With the EEGLAB extension manager:
- As soon as your extension is listed, all EEGLAB users will instantaneously have access to it (currently about 10,000 individual users start EEGLAB every month)
- You can submit your extension on this web page http://sccn.ucsd.edu/eeglab/plugin_uploader/upload_form.php <http://sccn.ucsd.edu/eeglab/plugin_uploader/upload_form.php>
- You can update your plugin and EEGLAB users are notified of the new version in the extension manager and can update the extension
- You get to see how many people have downloaded your extension on the extension manager
- A link directly available in the EEGLAB extension manager redirects users to the documentation of your extension on your web page
The EEGLAB extension manager is available from EEGLAB menu item “File > Manage EEGLAB extensions” and the list of EEGLAB is available at http://sccn.ucsd.edu/wiki/EEGLAB_Extensions_and_plug-ins <http://sccn.ucsd.edu/wiki/EEGLAB_Extensions_and_plug-ins>
