Open House

Date: Wednesday, November 19, 2025
Time: 3:30 pm (PST)
Location: SCCN laboratory
All are invited to offer valuable feedback to our SCCN researchers who will be sharing their current research projects in the form of demos and posters. Many former SCCN researchers who are in town for the SfN Conference will be invited.
Special Guest Presentation
Join us before our scheduled open house for a short presentation and a live demonstration of new semiconductor chips and closed-loop EEG/BCI platform.
1:30 pm
Semiconductor Neurochips for Invasive and Non-Invasive EEG Recording and EarEEG Wearables for Brain Monitoring and Neuromodulation
Hsin Chen CEO of BioPro Scientific, Professor at National Tsing Hua University
Abstract: In this talk, I will share our journey from academic research to startup innovation in bio electronic medicine. We have designed custom semiconductor chips that integrate EEG amplifiers with on board processors, enabling wireless 32 channel EEG systems for animal and human research. We have also developed in ear EEG earbuds that combine brainwave recording with vagus nerve stimulation. These platforms create closed loop brain–computer interfaces that not only monitor neural activity but also deliver targeted neuromodulation. I will introduce how these technologies support applications in movement and sleep disorders, demonstrate our wearable earEEG device, and discuss how such systems may advance human–AI interactions in everyday life.
Bio: Prof. Hsin Chen, CEO of BioPro Scientific and faculty member at National Tsing Hua University, leads innovations in neuromodulation and neuro engineering. His team develops AIoT enabled brain monitoring and therapeutic devices, translating academic breakthroughs into practical solutions for neurological and sleep disorders.
