Postdoc Positions (5 years) at University of Aveiro

Four Postdoctoral positions will be available, on the beginning of 2008, for individuals

who want to develop their activities on signal and image processing techniques, linear

and non-linear subspace techniques, pattern recognition , machine learning ,

bioinformatics, robotics or brain imaging .

Each fellowship will be held at the University of Aveiro (http://www.ua.pt) for five

years with a contract renewed every year. The research work will be performed at the

IEETA research institute (http://www.ieeta.pt). The researchers are expected to do

collaborative work within the research activities of the Signal Processing Laboratory

(http://www.ieeta.pt/spl), the Healthcare Information Systems R&D group

(http://www.ieeta.pt/sias) and/or the Bioinformatics group (http://bioinformatics.ua.pt).

The salary is ~43,300 ? per year (with typical increase of 3% per year, depending on

inflation rate). Tax incidence in Portugal for this level of salary is typically 27%.

The candidates should have a research experience of at least 3 years. However,

candidates with less experience will be considered if they show clear evidence of

expertise in relevant fields of this call. Applicants should have a PhD in mathematics,

computer science/engineering, biomedical engineering, physics, or a related discipline.
