[Eeglablist] Difference between Filter and Pattern Plot

Hi all,
 I'm working with spatial filter (i.e. IC and CSP).
Let us denote with X the EEG raw signal and with Z the projection obtained
with the filter S:
 Z = S * X
In this case the rows of matrix S are called "Filter"
If we write:
X = (S^(-1)) '   *  Z
with the rows of (S^(-1)) ' = A we denote the pattern.
Does anybody know what's the difference between Filter and Pattern
scalp-plot ?
What information gives the Pattern Plot?

Thank you in advance

Michele
