Im Feng from INTI College Penang.
I'm working on EEG project as my Electrical and Electronic Degree final year project. Up to date, I had successfully acquired
EEG signal through 2 passive electrode probe from the fore head.
However, due to lacking of medical related info on EEG, I couldn't proceed further to analyze and classify the EEG signal and go further for BCI (brain computer interaction) . Please suggest possible method and reading material. Your advice is much appreciated.
Im in the beginning stage currently. My hardware is using 2 channels to acquire the EEG signal via passive electrodes on the forehead. This signal had been gone through :
a) Analogue - filtering, aliasing, amplification
b) Digital - multiplexing, decoding (A/D) and serial com RS232
My main focus was on the software part. Im able to connect the hardware viz RS232 serial communication. Using Matlab,
i had done :
1) Decode the binary signal (D/A C)
2) Create a buffer to wait and sync the hardware bit rate
3) Reconstruct the signal in analogue form - time domain
4) FFT the signal into frequency domain
Currently trying to classify the signal with alpha, beta etc stages for the brain activeness.
At the meantime, I'm leaning Fuzzy Logic and ISA Technics related to DSP.
Now my major issue is analyze the EEG signal and interpretation. As an E&E Eng student, i have insufficient medical knowledge to understand the EEG wave.
Thanks in advance and have a nice day.
