The Department of Psychiatry and Psychotherapy, Charité – Universitätsmedizin Berlin invites applications for a PhD position
A Starting Grant of the European Research Council (ERC) will fund the currently open position (initially 24 months). The main objective of this ERC research program is to examine neural markers of multisensory integration and to test a new hypothesis that considers dynamic interplay of synchronized neural populations as a key to multisensory processes. The studies within this program include EEG and other neuroimaging methods. Studies will be conducted in healthy subjects and patients with schizophrenia. Multisensory processes will be examined in a series of experiments requiring both bottom-up and top-down processing.
Applicants should have a background in psychology, medicine, biology, physics, engineering, or neuroscience. Basic experience in human EEG or MEG studies, Matlab programming skills, as well as some German language skills for interacting with patients are prerequisites for the position. An interest in neurophysiological studies including clinical populations is expected.
Applicants are asked to submit their CV, a motivation letter including information about a possible starting date, 2 names of referees, and documentation of relevant qualifications (e.g., copies of diplomas and/or transcripts of grades) until November 25, 2012, electronically to: daniel.senkowski at charite.de<mailto:daniel.senkowski at charite.de>
Regards,
Daniel Senkowski
