Medical researchers at the University of California San Diego and other
partners are seeking a computational neuroscience researcher to assist in
the management of environmental and cognitive neuroscience projects, to
include development of a portable, point-of-care functional neurodiagnostic
platform designed specifically to interrogate Central Nervous System
responsiveness in clinically relevant neuropathological states such as
Traumatic Brain Injury and hypoxic injury (i.e., altitude illness or in
aerospace medicine). The prime candidate would be a post-doc (but not
necessarily, MS would be considered) who could work as a project lead,
performing primarily signal processing using advanced computational models,
but must also be comfortable with hardware including custom research-grade
systems. This person would be expected to assist in the independent
execution of the full ‘hypothesis life cycle’ from hypothesis generation to
successful publication in peer-reviewed literature.
