[Eeglablist] EEG feature extraction: global vs. local stimulus processing

Dear Gurus,

I wanted to know if anyone has experience with data-mining for EEG features
representing the processing of global/local features in visual and auditory
information streams? I understand that there is evidence which suggests
that global and local features may be processed in separate brain areas,
and that they may function in parallel. Google scholar has a couple of
interesting articles based on ERP methodologies.

What I want to understand is how these features could be assessed in a
continuous time-domain representation? What frequency bands are sensitive
to this dichotomy (global/local)? What regions in relation to the
10-20/10-10 system are relevant? Would this be some form of hemispheric
asymmetric measure?

If anyone has some insight to share it would be greatly appreciated.

Kind Regards,

Yaseen
