[Eeglablist] Where to (alternatively) put ground and ref on ActiCap

Dear Clemens,

If you run ICA it'll evaluate the spatial distribution of the frontal theta
across ALL channels, so it does not matter if you miss FCz for example.

Otherwise--reference and ground channels are the two most important
channels which you CANNOT reject. Therefore you want to place them to the
most mechanically stable location, such as earlobe using a clip. If you set
the reference to Cz for example and the electrode cap was a bit too big or
does not fit the subject's head shape, your Cz may be loose--this will be a
disaster.

I recommend you use average reference even if you don't use ICA, so the
initial reference location is relatively trivial (other than the contact
stability issue).

Both nose tip and earlobes sound good, but I would personally avoid nose
tip since it bothers subjects.
