Hi Athif, understood. Some other quick thoughts and suggestions here below,
good luck!

In that case, if you get no response from a user who has dealt with your
specific situation or this general issue with such files, it should be
possible for you on your own to build a workaround here (ie, building a
text file that you import separately, or modifying the misread events via
code in matlab/eeglab). I would also recommend you try several different
variations of the EDF import, or find a conversion function to change the
EDF format (before importing in eeglab), and also play around with the
multiple/many options for biosig import in eeglab. You should have success
with either file I-Oplugin or the Biosig plugin if you try further to
exhaust the various possibilities with those plugins. Another option is to
import the data in another EEG/imaging software, and if the events are
correctly detected there, then export them, and then import them into
eeglab.
For searching these authors, I recommend you search on Google and Google
scholar for anyone who has used the datasets you are using.
If you contact the team who generated the data, they should also be able to
get you a full correct event list you can import yourself manually.
If you find this is a replicable bug and not due to user or plugin
limitations, then please put a note or request on eeglab bugzilla.
