Dear colleagues,

One post-doctoral position is available in a newly formed research group at the School of Psychology of Vita-Salute San Raffaele University and the Division of Neuroscience of the I.R.C.C.S. San Raffaele Scientific Institute in Milan (Italy). The position is funded by an Early Career Award from the Regional Foundation for Biomedical Research of the Region Lombardy.

The aims of the project include: i) the study of how neural oscillations support the functionality of the magnocellular-dorsal visual stream in humans; ii) the study of how impairments of oscillatory activity impact reading in participants with developmental dyslexia and; iii) the development of new rehabilitative trainings for reading impairments that make use of transcranial alternating current stimulation (tACS).

The ideal candidate should have a PhD in psychology, cognitive neuroscience, or a related field, and a robust research record connected to the topics of the project, including international publications. Consistent experience in using M/EEG and tACS (or similar non-invasive electrical stimulation techniques), as well as expertise in creating stimuli and in analyzing M/EEG data (e.g. EEGLAB, Fieldtrip, Brainstorm) in human participants are required. Additional experience with eye-tracking, fMRI or machine learning analyses will be considered a plus.

The post-doc roles will include also co-supervision of younger teams members (PhD students, research assistants, master/bachelor students).

There is some flexibility in the starting date, with a preference for starting by the end of summer 2021.

The appointment is initially for 1 year with possible extensions of up to 3 years.

Interested candidates can send their CV and the contact details of two persons that can provide a reference directly to the P.I. (ronconi.luca at unisr.it). They are welcome to send also any informal enquiries regarding the position to have additional information.

Luca

***** Additional info about the research facilities *****

The laboratory will be equipped with state-of-the-art 64 channels EEG (Brain Products GmbH), standard and high-definition transcranial electrical stimulation (tACS/tDCS/tRNS), eye-tracking (Eye-link 1000 Plus), entirely dedicated to the current project. Moreover, the Division of Neuroscience has fMRI facilities equipped with 3T MR scanner at CERMAC (CEntro Risonanza Magnetica ad Alto Campo), with dedicated technical personnel.
