PURSUE (Preparing Undergraduates for Research in STEM Using Electrophysiology) is recruiting instructors who are interested in creating or revising a full semester course to teach undergraduates ERP using PURSUE's open educational materials. Instructors will receive access to evidence-based, vetted teaching materials, labs, ERP data, assessments, and grading rubrics. Other implementation support will include guidance on getting new course approval, course design, and adaptation of materials to individual needs. In addition, participating faculty will have the opportunity to network and build community with other ERP instructors.

We are accepting applications from experienced ERP instructors as well as those who have never taught an ERP class for two separate faculty learning communities. We are dedicated to recruiting a diverse and supportive group of instructors to achieve our goal of creating inclusive opportunities for undergraduate training in electrophysiology. We strongly encourage applicants from primarily undergraduate institutions, underrepresented groups and disadvantaged backgrounds.

Participating faculty will be expected to provide feedback about their teaching experience and to participate in occasional meetings via zoom. Additionally, they will be required to attend an in-person workshop in Richmond, VA in the summer of 2023 and 2024. Funding is provided from NSF to cover the costs of attending the in-person workshop. There is no application fee.

COVID Information: To maximize the benefits of the faculty learning community and encourage collaborative course building, we are currently planning to hold the 2023 and 2024 workshops as in-person events. However, these plans are subject to change based on health and safety concerns around the COVID-19 pandemic. If the event is held in person, we will require that everyone is fully vaccinated, and we will also implement any other safety measures that are warranted at the time of the workshop.

Applications are now being accepted and are due by October 7th. Selection of participants will occur during the month of October.
