The Simonyan Lab at Harvard Medical School and Mass General Brigham (https://urldefense.com/v3/__https://simonyanlab.hms.harvard.edu__;!!Mih3wA!CUpRnkrFvuHkAhs4ba4K-3UBhnpsgPoPHLJxlmBj1kTP-KJLAXwxAsnj5s0wJMJmrR-MLDqStSdv_kuLzc4bl3b2U6hhbCj15btFBy1a$ ) has several open positions for postdoctoral fellows (1) to study brain organization in patients with dystonia and tremor using a combination of structural (MRI, DWI) and functional (simultaneous fMRI/EEG) neuroimaging techniques, genetics, and clinico-behavioral neurotesting, and (2) to work on deep learning algorithms for automatic diagnosis of dystonia, prediction of the risk for dystonia development, and the efficacy of treatment outcomes using multimodal neuroimaging data (structural MRI, DWI, EEG, fMRI, MEG, intracranial recordings).

The postdoctoral fellows will function as part of a multi-disciplinary team of neuroscientists, geneticists, and clinicians. Responsibilities will include participating in all aspects of data acquisition, analysis and management, developing, modifying and executing image analysis or DL/ML protocols, preparing publications and scientific presentations, disseminating results in peer-reviewed scientific journals and at major national and international meetings, and mentoring junior staff. Opportunities exist for excellent scientific interactions and collaborations with an extensive program of seminars, symposia and other organized meetings focused on a large array of topics in neuroscience and neuroimaging.

Qualifications and Skills

  *   A PhD or MD/PhD degree in Neuroscience, Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Mathematics, or related fields of biomedical sciences.
  *   Expertise in human brain imaging, including but not limited to fMRI, EEG, and DWI.
  *   Solid experience with scientific computing, including but not limited to computational (Python, MATLAB) and statistical (AFNI, FSL, SPM) methods.
  *   Ability to work effectively independently and collaborate on projects with multiple investigators.
  *   Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  *   Excellent academic credentials, including a strong publication record.
