[Eeglablist] issue reading files obtained with LSL in EEGLAB

Hello,
I was just wondering if anyone has any recommendations on or has
encountered the following issue:
when using eeglab and LSL with an openbci ultracortex 8 electrode EEG. When
importing data using an XDF importing extension or interacting with a .set
file type generated directly by eeglabs LSL extension, the file opens with
errors stating that no channel labels are present and proceeds to read the
file as having 125 different channels, in comparison to our known 8
channels. any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated.
