Driving to SCCN from the South

From North Torrey Pines Rd (exit going west from Interstate 5), turn east on UCSD Northpoint Drive, just north of The Salk Institute. Continue east on Hopkins Drive, which turns right (south). SCCN is in the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) building East entrance on the right, just south of the large (RIMAC) gym facility.

Driving to SCCN from the North

From Genesee Rd (exit going west from Interstate 5), turn left/south at the top of the hill onto North Torrey Pines Rd, then again left/east at first opportunity (UCSD Northpoint Drive). Continue east on Hopkins Drive, which turns right (south). SCCN is in the San Diego Supercomputer Center (SDSC) building East entrance on the right, just south of the large (RIMAC) gym facility.

Parking at SCCN

The Hopkins Parking Structure is just south of SDSC. Visitor spaces are on the top Level 7; UC faculty 'A' permit spaces are on the top entrance Level 6. To enter, turn right (West) on Voigt Lane, go up the hill about 60 m, enter the parking garage on the right (at Level 6) and (visitors) drive up to Level 7. Buy and a parking permit from the machines at the (SW & NE) corners of the parking structure and display it under your windshield.

Reaching SCCN

From the parking structure there are two ways to walk to SCCN:

1. From the SE corner of any parking garage Level, take the elevator or stairs down to Level Two. Walk straight (north) out of the elevator, then (carefully) up the exit ramp onto Hopkins Drive. Continue walking north about 50m, then turn left (west) to the SDSC Building East Entrance. Climb the stairway or take the small elevator located to the left of the stairs. Once in the Supercomputer Center lobby (level B1), SCCN is on your right (north).

2. From the NW corner of Level 7, walk west across the pedestrian bridge. Turn right (north) under the (first, grey) Social Sciences building, then turn right (east) again down the outdoor walkway to the Supercomputer Center West Entrance and lobby. Walk through the lobby and straight down the stairs one level. The SCCN facility (on level B1) is on the left. Note: The East entrance (1. above) is preferred outside normal business hours (M-Fr 9-6).
