Dear EEGLABlist members,
I would like to introduce you a new plugin for the rejection of EOG
artifacts from EEG/MEG signals. This plugin for EEGLAB implements the new
methodology, proposed in [1] namely REGICA.
REGICA is an automatic methodology for EOG Artifact Rejection. REGICA
assumes that the artifactual Independent Components (ICs) extracted by a BSS
method include more ocular and less cerebral activity than the contaminated
EEG signals. We thus propose to apply a regression algorithm to the ICs
rather than directly to the recorded signals.
So according to the REGICA Methodology, the contaminated EEG/MEG signals
should be decomposed using a BSS method and then only the contaminated IC’s
should be further filtered.
You can find more details for REG-ICA in [1]. You can also download the
REG-ICA plugin according with the artificially contaminated dataset used in
[1] here...<http://lomiweb.med.auth.gr/gan/site/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=16950&Itemid=72&lang=en>
