Postdoctoral Fellowship/Research Fellow
The Neuroscience Research Partnership is funded by the Agency for Science
Technology and Research (A*STAR), Singapore's lead government agency
dedicated to fostering world-class scientific research. In partnership with
the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, the NRP research activities span
molecular and cellular neurobiology, developmental neuroscience,
neurodegeneration and other neurological disorders, and cognitive
neuroscience. The NRP provides access to state-of-the-art scientific
facilities and infrastructure, and offers a vibrant and innovative
environment to foster world-class research.
The multidisciplanry Laboratory of Multimodal Neuroimaging in
Neuropsychiatric Disorders is led by Principle Investigator, Dr. Helen Juan
Zhou, located at Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School, Neuroscience and
Behavioral Disorders Program, Singapore. It is supported by the Neuroscience
Research Partnership between Duke-NUS and A&STAR, Singapore. Using
multimodal neuroimaging techniques (fMRI/DTI/EEG), our lab focuses on: (1)
developing computational intelligence methods to integrate longitudinal
multimodal neuroimaging data; and (2) applying these methods to study
healthy human brain organization underlying social-emotion/cognitive/memory
functions and vulnerability patterns in neuropsychiatric disorders. Our
ultimate goal is to investigate the interactions among network dynamics,
behaviors, diseases, and genotypes in order to explore non-invasive
biomarkers for behavior prediction, differential diagnosis, and treatment
design.
Candidates must have a passionate enthusiasm for research, a strong
background in one of the following fields: cognitive neuroscience,
neuropsychiatric disorders, neuropsychology, neuroimaging analyses,
mathematics/statistics/machine learning or related-fields. He or she should
be self-motivated, enjoy working as a team and constantly seek new
challenges. He/ She should also possess the ability to take the initiative,
work independently and be motivated to work in a highly collaborative and
international research environment, and be able to demonstrate creativity,
technical independence and excellent communication skills.
Requirements
1. PhD in one of the following fields: cognitive neuroscience,
neuropsychology, neuroimaging analyses, mathematics/statistics/machine
learning or related-fields
2. Strong interest in studying social-emotion/cognition/memory functions
and/or analyzing multimodal neuroimaging data, for neuropsychiatric
disorders
3. Proven skills in fMRI/EEG/DTI data analyses is a plus
Key attractions are access to a 3T Tim Trio MR scanner and a MR compatible
digital EEG system as well as collaboration opportunities with an excellent
network of domestic and international scientists and doctors. Competitive
package will be provided based on experience.
Interested applicants are welcome to email Dr. Zhou at
helen.zhou at nrp.a-star.edu.sg with the application letter, curriculum vitae,
three references, and contact information.
