[Eeglablist] Cluster-based permutation tests

Iman,
If you are just interested in the time-domain, I'd compute the ERPs one way or another, and for each ERP, I'd put the averaged data in EEG.data somehow, sort out EEG as if the ERP in EEG.data were a very short section of EEG, so you can plot it ok in EEGLAB, and then convert to fieldtrip with said function. Then do it in fieldtrip. Fieldtrip have a good online tutorial for doing this just in the time-domain. There are functions for converting between EEGLAB and fieldtrip. Best regards,
Tom.

Hi Arno,Thanks for your reply! Actually, I want to do cluster-based permutation on EEG data ( not ICA stuff http://sccn.ucsd.edu/wiki/Chapter_04:_Processing_multiple_subjects_in_studies#Viewing_component_clusters) and I could not find the help for that in EEGLAB tutorial . Could you or any other EEGLABER please let me know how should I do the cluster-based permutation on time-domain data in EEGLAB ? Best,Iman From: Arnaud Delorme [mailto:arno at ucsd.edu]

Subject: Re: [Eeglablist] Cluster-based permutation tests Dear Iman, yes EEGLAB can do the cluster-based permutation test like Fieldtrip (in fact, it is calling some Fieldtrip function to do that). It is only available in EEGLAB 12 though.Best, Arno On 20 Dec 2012, at 12:35, Stephen Politzer-Ahles wrote:

Hi Iman,

I'm not aware of any EEGLAB functions for doing that (although it seems there are some previous discussions on the list about bootstrap statistics, which are somewhat related). But since EEGLAB data can easily be imported directly into FieldTrip (see the EEGLAB function eeglab2fieldtrip() ) it should not be difficult to do that test in FieldTrip. (also, I'm not experienced with the Mass Univariate toolbox or ERPLAB, so my not mentioning them doesn't mean that they can't do this; I just don't know about them.)
